At the Beale Park Thames Boat Show in 2006 James Wharrem Designs raffled a model of one of their catamarans to raise money for a project to give two double canoes to the remote Polynesian islands of Anuta & Tikopia..
In March this year, the project called "Lapita Voyage" was successfully completed when the two canoes arrived at the islands after a 4000Nm voyage from the Philippines where they were built, via Indonesia and New Guinea.
Come along on Saturday at 3pm or Sunday at 11am to hear about the voyage. A feat of endurance for any sailor but made even more fantastic by James who undertook the voyage at the age of 80.
