BACK FROM DUNKIRK (AGAIN) The Return of a Dunkirk Little ship (to Beale Park)
Henley Sales and Charter specialises in the sale of historic and vintage boats. At Beale Park for the first time we are honoured to be showing “Chumley”, fresh from the 70th anniversary Dunkirk crossing where she joined in with countless other craft for stirring ceremonies, commemorating those terrifying days when so many lives were saved by the flotilla of civilian ships.
Chumley was shipped from the USA in 1937 when Chris Craft were building many innovative launches over the pond. “Chalmondleigh” as she was first named was one of these now legendary launches. Her claim to fame grew after she participated in the Dunkirk rescue being at that time owned by Tommy Trinder, a famous entertainer of the times.
Come and see Chumley and several other historic craft on the Henley Sales and Charter Stand at the Beale Park Boat Show between the 4th and 6th June.
