Organisers of the Beale Park Boat Show (8th - 10th June 2012) at Lower Basildon in Berkshire, would like to hear from the owners of a piece of boating or motoring history, as they prepare to showcase boats and classic cars from each decade (1950s - present) in commemoration of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in 2012.
One of the UK’s largest regional boat shows, organisers are keen to create a unique exhibit featuring examples of boats and classic cars from times gone by.
Show Organiser, Gillie Jackson, said, “We would like to hear from anybody who feels that they have something of historical interest to share with our visitors. Our aim is to select a couple of exhibits to represent each decade, illustrating how design and technology have advanced through the years.”
Gillie continued, “Clubs and individuals are invited to write to us, enclosing photos and a brief history. Our closing date for nominations is 1st February 2012, when we will select the required number of participants.”
She added, “This is a super opportunity to be involved in something very special and rather unique, so we are looking forward to seeing what we think will be a varied and interesting response.”
The Beale Park Boat Show has grown considerably in recent years, now attracting European and Australian visitors, as well as boating and classic car enthusiasts. Due to take place on 8th - 10th June next year, it will feature everything from displays on the lake, boating competitions and live music to cookery demonstrations and arts and crafts, with free boat trips and family canoeing alongside.
