We are the Environment Agency. We look after your environment, making it a better place for you and for future generations. Our work includes looking after the River Thames, keeping it clean, healthy and safe and managing the complex balance between flood control, water supply and the needs of wildlife and visitors.
We look after 45 locks and weirs on the River Thames, each manned by a resident lock keeper. On this 135-mile stretch of river, which flows from the Cotswolds to the outskirts of London, we provide campsites, picnic areas, canoe portage points, angling platforms, boat moorings and work with businesses and local communities to promote boating and leisure for everyone. This year we are very pleased to be working with Beale Park and supporting the Beale Park Thames Boat Show to encourage more people to get afloat.
